Your Happiest Sports Moment(s)

#2 - In 1998 Coach Jimbo Adams had became our third coach in 4 years. We were picked to finish in the middle of the pack and we pretty much did. We went 5-5, losing 3 games by a total of 6 points. We had made it to the playoffs where we finally beat Appy for the region D title. Winning that game was surreal. It's was like we finally reach the top of the mountain. While we went on to beat Covington for half state and then travaled up to Crozet to play Surry County for the state championship. Surry Co. had been there the past 2 years lossing to Appy each time. The game wasn't bad until the last 50 secs of the first half. The score was 10-6 Surry Co. with 50secs left to play when they scored 13 unanswered points to go into the half with a 23-6 lead. Needless to say that took the wind out of sails. The second half the held us scoreless going on to win 46-6. To some people this may seem like an unhappy sports moment but for me it wasn't. We were the first Burton team to make that far since the 91 team I believe and we were Jimbos first team to get there aswell.

#1 - Wacthing My nephew who was a senior for Manassas Park beat Powell Valley in the state championship game. He scored 14 of MP points.

The fight was 1979. Elliott made the cover of Sports Illustrated. It became crazy popular in the mid-eighties. The Winston Million and the so called pass in the grass gave you the real drama. def. my happiest sports moment also, it wasn't my first UF-UT game though, Blue and I were also at the one two years prior where UF lost by a field goal. It was just an awesome game to come from behind and win ... plus my mom always gets us free tickets from the First Bank of Tennessee so my brother and I are usually the ONLY Gator fan surrounded by Vol fans which makes it even better when we win.It was nice to drive home from Knoxville the next day with all our Gator gear on the truck ... and of course we did go on to win the BSC title that year which makes it even better!

my own personal sports moment was going to state in shot put after throwing my personal best at the regional meet in BSG.
